GrimesPlex, a premier 50-acre synthetic turf multi-sport complex, stands as one of the largest facilities of its kind in the Midwest. Located just west of Highway 141 and north of Hy-Vee in the developing Hope District of Grimes, Iowa, this state-of-the-art facility accommodates a diverse range of athletic activities. It features 12 full-size (11v11) soccer fields and 18 baseball/softball fields, along with six pods of 184,000 sq. ft. of turf each.
Additional amenities include 36 batting cages and 36 bullpens, which are set to enhance training opportunities for athletes. The complex also offers ample parking with 1,225 stalls across north and south lots, and two concession/restroom buildings to serve visitors.
Civil Design Advantage provided comprehensive services for the project, including master planning, preliminary and final design, construction administration, and construction staking. Preliminary and final design included the preparation of final construction and contract documents to enable the city to bid the project in accordance with public bidding laws. Construction began in summer 2022 and was completed in fall 2023, bringing the state-of-the-art facility to fruition.
